This story took place at Pepperdine University HAWC building around 6 p.m.- 11 p.m. This piece revolves around one of the on-campus chefs, Anders, who works from day to night and explains what and how his job is like. I chose this project because I recall going to the HAWC for some late-night munchies my freshman year but never took into consideration the people working there during that time. I wanted to make sure I portray the life of one of the chefs who works these types of hours accurately.
Throughout this piece, my commitment was to film at the HAWC during the evening and follow the life of students and the chefs there at this time. My execution in this package involved filming students receiving their late-night meals, eating their meals, spending downtime at the HAWC, as well as their overall mood there. Additionally, my execution was also to follow Anders while he worked in the kitchen as well as interview him talking about his job.
Overall, I have come to the conclusion that many of the chefs here work long hours but it seems to be all worth it seeing the students happy from a good meal.
